Since the Chris Chan Wing Chun Kung Fu School in Berlin has opened, a lot of new students signed up. Regrettably, right now there are so many students in our regular class that we are not able to enroll any more.

We are working on being able to accommodate more students, but we are not certain when we will be able to make that happen.

So please check back later or leave your contacts details at postmaster@chris-chan.de, so we can let you know when we have an opening.

It trains the student how to move and attack with power, while maintaining a strong root to the ground. Chum Kiu also teaches and develops torque power, gauging the opponent’s distance, and kicking. Sandbags for Iron Palm training

Posted in Equipment, Forms, Wing Chun Berlin, Wing Chun System on October 28th, 2008 by Peter

Grandmaster Chris Chan never stops stressing the importance of sandbag work as part of his body transformation training. He wants all of his students to be mentally and physically strong and be prepared to defend themselves, if they have to. In case you have to strike, you must be able to hit hard and powerful. Any kind of Kung Fu without these foundational skills is useless.

The focused exercise to develop the ablity to hit hard without hurting your own hands is usually called Iron Palm. Grandmaster Chris Chan’s Iron Palm training includes various sandbag sets and types of execution training. It will condition the striking areas of your hands and forearms by building up and condensing the bones. Also the tendons, ligaments and muscles will be transformed and strengthened.

“What do you do with a gun, if you have no bullets? What do you do with your technique, if you have no power? You must be able to hit hard.”

(Chris Chan)

Considering the importance of sandbag work, the Chris Chan Wing Chun School Berlin is happy to announce that we were able to start our own sandbag production. Custom-made high quality sandbags in different forms and sizes for conditioning your hands and arms (or even legs) can be ordered. Read more »
